Directives From The President Of The Republic; All Universities, SHS and Basic Schools Closed From Tomorrow Till Further Notice.

The Akufo-Addo led administration on has ordered heads of private and public schools in the country ranging from basic to the university to close down their institution until further notice from the Ministry of Education.

“All Universities, Senior High Schools, and basic schools, i.e. public and private schools, will be closed Monday, 16th March, 2020, till further notice. The Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Ministry of Communication, has been tasked to roll out distance learning programmes,” he said.

However the President stated that students who are about to write their WASSCE or BECE exams will be allowed to “attend to school but with prescribed social distancing protocols.

 All public gatherings including conferences, funerals, church activities have been suspended for 4 weeks.

 All Universities, schools etc have been closed from tomorrow. They’re to do distance learning.

 Government travel bans announced still in force.

 Ministry of transport to work with transport operators to enhance hygiene.

 Supermarkets, malls etc must ensure highest standards of personal hygiene.

 Ministry of Local Government must liaise with relevant authorities to improve hygiene standards in our markets.

 Attorney General and Minister for Health to fast track processes to ensure legislative processes are implemented to back directives.
